MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG to Transfer to Broadway

After it’s sold out run concludes on January 22, Maria Friedman’s acclaimed production of Merrily We Roll Along will transfer to Broadway in the fall of 2023. This will be the first revival of Merrily on Broadway since the original production infamously flopped, playing only 16 performances in 1981.

From the Director’s Chair of Lileana Blain-Cruz

I started my journey at New York Theatre Workshop doing a reading with Branden Jacobs-Jenkins—he was an artist in the fellowship program at the time. I remember walking into the third-floor studio with its skylight and feeling such a wonderful, positive energy. I applied for the fellowship myself. The first time—and second time—I didn’t get in! Ha! But something about NYTW drew me back—its warmth, its circle of artists, the deep questioning that seemed to reverberate through the space. So, I applied again after grad school. This time, I got in.

In Memory of Barbara Warner Howard

Our beloved friend, family member, colleague, and den mother to all, Barbara Leah Warner Howard died on November 9, 2022, peacefully at home while listening to Ella Fitzgerald, surrounded by family and friends.
